Partnering with the community, Habitats for Humanity builds simple, decent homes, which are then sold at cost with a zero-interest, 1% down payment mortgage to families who qualify for our program. Their mortgage payments - payments that are often lower than what they were paying in rent - go into a revolving "Fund for Humanity" that is used to build more homes in the Portland area.

What is Adopt-a-Road?

Adopt-a-Road is a public service program for citizens who want to help keep Washington County beautiful by picking up litter along County roads. It’s an opportunity for citizens and the County to work cooperatively to solve a community problem. And it’s a way for environmentally conscious citizens to make a personal commitment to a cleaner environment.
